LAA’s Matt Braynard Criticizes US Capitol Police for Lacking Transparency Surrounding J6 in its “Public Availability of Records”

Washington, D.C. – The US Capitol Police (USCP) recently released a “Public Availability of Records: Request for Information” document, effective yesterday January 1, 2024.

It specifically excludes the release of information surrounding January 6, 2021 in a footnote on the final page which reads “At this time, given the continuing prosecutions, all information related to the events of January 6, 2021 are Exempt from Disclosure through this process.”

Look Ahead America (LAA)’s Executive Director Matt Braynard made the following statement:

The US Capitol Police continues to put itself above the law and above the common American standards of transparency. They are not only exempt from FOIA requests, but their latest attempt to feign accountability isn’t fooling anyone.

It’s time for Congress to pass legislation forcing the US Capitol Police to be fully subject to the same FOIA standards as municipal police and the other branches of the Federal Government.

I also encourage all patriots to join me outside the Department of Justice this Saturday, January 6th at noon, to make your voices heard and to show that we have not forgotten those who have been rounded up and abused by our government for their political beliefs.
