Washington, D.C. – Following the US Congress’s Committee on House Administration’s decision to grant media, defendants, and nonprofit groups limited access to the US Capitol Police’s archive of footage from January 6, 2021, Look Ahead America immediately requested admittance to the program.
LAA’s Executive Director Matt Braynard made the following statement:
It has been a long-time coming, but we are glad we can now apply for access. Unfortunately, only a single, three-hour session per week is being offered, but we will petition the committee for additional time.
We also invite any J6 defendants with cases pending to let us know if we can help them find any exculpatory material. While defendants are themselves allowed to access the footage, they may only do so under cumbersome and limited circumstances.
LAA has the most extensive and searchable database of January 6th defendants available to the public: https://j6.lookaheadamerica.org/j6/.
LAA has also featured multiple defendants, their families, media, activists, and others related to the J6 prosecutions on The Political Prisoner Podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/politicalprisoner.
