In this episode, we hear from Andrew Galloway, a January 6th defendant and combat veteran who went to the Capitol out of deep frustration over the impact Covid lockdowns had on his livelihood. Accompanied by his cousin, he arrived after the chaos had already begun and was swept up in a crowd. Separated from his cousin and pushed forward, he unknowingly entered the Capitol through a window, immediately realized what had happened, and turned around to leave. A week later, the FBI showed up at his home, and despite a documented address change, an anti-terrorism unit raided his in-laws’ home in Tennessee—where he had moved with his family—accusing him of being on the run. He was questioned and charged, despite never lingering in the building. His story highlights the personal cost many have endured in the wake of January 6th.
