On April 19, 2021, Lindell announced that My Pillow had filed a $1.6 billion lawsuit against Dominion, arguing that Dominion had defamed the company.

Also filed a civil suit June 3, 2021 against Dominion and SmartMatic.

In May 2022, the federal court dismissed all the claims by Lindell and MyPillow against Dominion, Smartmatic, their lawyers, and public relations firm. The court also ruled that Lindell and MyPillow would be liable to Smartmatic for attorney’s fees in an amount to be determined for making claims that were frivolous under Rule 11.
